Dresser slides – Dropping a chest of drawers is a great way to add color and freshen up a tired bedroom. Plus, repainting an old agency is much cheaper than buying a new one. You may be surprised at home differently an agency can see with a fresh layer of color. Although it may seem like a big project, when breaking down, you realize it’s quite simple and something that can be done over a weekend.
Select a well-ventilated space and cover it with the newspaper or a dust sheet. Remove all knobs and handles from the dresser slides. If the anger is old and worn out, you might want to consider buying new buds. Remove the drawers from the chest of drawers and place them face down on the floor. Inspect the color of the office to see if it is peeling. You can test it by placing a piece of tape across multiple areas of the agency and removing them. If the tape dissolves clean with no color, then you do not need to scale off the color from the agency. If there are areas that are peeling or if the tape does not get clean then you need to scale off the agency.
Clean a cleaner with a general detergent and water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Strip the color from the chest if necessary. See additional resources below for information on dresser slides. Use wood kittens, fill in any holes or urges in the chest of drawers. Wait for the fluff to dry before moving to the next step. Lightweight sandy chest of wood (if possible). The purpose of grinding is to help the paint follow the surface, do not remove old paint. Wipe gauze with gauze to remove any residue and dust caused by grinding. Apply a layer of primer. Wait for the primer to dry completely before moving to the next step otherwise the color will not hold. Lightweight sandbox and wipe with cheesecloth.
If you plan to paint a dresser slides a bright color, you may need another layer of primer. Paint the chest of drawers with a layer of latex paint. Paint inside and out to avoid drip. Try to go with the tree’s vein. Keep your strokes smooth and always brush in the same direction. Wait until the color dries. For best results, wait overnight before proceeding. Lightweight sandbox with sandpaper and wipe with cheesecloth. Paint the chest of drawers with a second layer of latex paint. When the office is dry, put back the drawer pull and install the chest of drawers.
If you work with a solid wood chestnut, give it a slight grind to remove some of its protective coating. Remove the drawer handles. Be sure to cover the floors, wipe the windows and wear a face mask. Wipe away the dust. If your chest of drawers is not solid wood, not sand finish. Rather use a quality primer, such as Zinsser or Kilz to seal the manufactured wood product completely and to give a simple surface to paint. Some solid wood painting techniques do not require a primer. For these techniques, a slight grinding is sufficient.
